The ALEC begins his fourth year. A number of members have been cooperating for the first time. Others we joined more recently. The activities change significantly depending on the needs of one or the other, but there is always so much energy to live our modest association. It is now present, recognized and appreciated in various events and organizations (libraries, lounges, municipalities, other associations, publishing houses), and even abroad (Senegal, New York, Canada). As meetings in literary circles during book fairs during literary cafes, and in all places where it is present, new members join us. The spirit remains
the same: sharing information, help, advice literature, writing, publishing. Writing workshops have become one-day workshops several times a year. This allows any audience to participate without feeling trapped in a demanding schedule. In addition anyone wants to try to open up writing can participate without being required to join the association.
Storytime always gets so popular with children in kindergarten where I expected every Friday morning. Roundtables reading continues with new participants who are willing not to travel 50 km to share and make the pleasure they have felt for a book or an author.
An editorial activity was pioneered a few months ago for the printing of small volumes of poetry under the name of the AECB, and allow authors to help s'autoéditer at very low cost. You will find enclosed the minutes of the last general meeting detailing the activities undertaken during the year 2009.
2010 is already promising a nice energy boost to the growing interest that we find ourselves in, by trade Internet or telephone for more distant, through the newsletter that you feed, during activities at headquarters, or we share stands at book fairs. Thank you all share the same passion. Gisele Meunier
